Children attend elementary school on Kili through eighth grade. Toward the end of the eighth grade, students must pass a standardized test to gain admission to attend public high school in Jaluit or Majuro .

Beginning in 2011 the resettled residents of Kili Island began to experience periods of ocean flooding during Clearance New Arrival Mountain Cut Ghost sneakers Nude amp; Neutrals Filling Pieces Buy Sale Online Low Price Fee Shipping Online Pick A Best Cheap Price Big Sale Cheap Online AvLStl
aggravated by the effects of global warming . The highest point of Kili Island is only 3 metres (9.8ft) above sea level. Ocean waves have covered portions of the island at least five times from 2011 to 2015, contaminating the wells on the island. The runway servicing the island is unusable during and after rains and ocean flooding because it becomes extremely muddy. In August 2015, the Bikini Council passed a resolution requesting assistance from US government to modify terms of the Resettlement Trust Fund for the People of Bikini to be used to relocate the population once again, this time outside of the Marshall Islands. [21] [47]

In 1975, when the islanders who had returned to Bikini Atoll learned that it wasn't safe, they sued the United States for the first time, demanding a radiological study of the northern islands. [48]

In 1975, the United States set up The Hawaiian Trust Fund for the People of Bikini , totaling $3 million. When the islanders were removed from the island in 1978, the U.S. added $3 million to the fund. The U.S. created a second trust fund, The Resettlement Trust Fund for the People of Bikini , containing $20 million in 1982. The U.S. added another $90 million to that fund to pay to clean up, reconstruct homes and facilities, and resettle the islanders on Bikini and Eneu islands. In 1983, the U.S. and the Marshall islanders signed the Compact of Free Association , which gave the Marshall Islands independence. The Compact became effective in 1986 and was subsequently modified by the Amended Compact that became effective in 2004. [50] It also established the Nuclear Claims Tribunal , which was given the task of adjudicating compensation for victims and families affected by the nuclear testing program. Section 177 of the compact provided for reparations to the Bikini islanders and other northern atolls for damages. It included $75 million to be paid over 15 years. [49] On 5 March 2001, the Nuclear Claims Tribunal ruled against the United States for damages done to the islands and its people. The payments began in 1987 with $2.4 million paid annually to entire Bikini population, while the remaining $2.6 million is paid into The Bikini Claims Trust Fund . This trust is intended to exist in perpetuity and to provide the islanders a 5% payment from the trust annually. [49]

ES6 In Depth is a series on new features being added to the JavaScript programming language in the 6th Edition of the ECMAScript standard, ES6 for short.

Two weeks ago, we described the new classes system added in ES6 for handling trivial cases of object constructor creation. We showed how you can use it to write code that looks like this:

Unfortunately, as some people pointed out, there wasn’t time to talk then about the rest of the power of classes in ES6. Like traditional class systems (C++ or Java, for example), ES6 allows for inheritance , where one class uses another as a base, and then extends it by adding more features of its own. Let’s take a closer look at the possibilities of this new feature.

Before we get started talking about subclassing, it will be useful to spend a moment reviewing property inheritance and the dynamic prototype chain .

When we create an object, we get the chance to put properties on it, but it also inherits the properties of its prototype objects. JavaScript programmers will be familiar with the existing Object.create API which allows us to do this easily:

Further, when we add properties to obj with the same name as ones on proto , the properties on obj shadow those on proto .

With this in mind, we can now see how we should hook up the prototype chains of the objects created by a class. Recall that when we create a class, we make a new function corresponding to the constructor method in the class definition which holds all the static methods. We also create an object to be the prototype property of that created function, which will hold all the instance methods. To create a new class which inherits all the static properties, we will have to make the new function object inherit from the function object of the superclass. Similarly, we will have to make the prototype object of the new function inherit from the prototype object of the superclass, for the instance methods.

That description is very dense. Let’s try an example, showing how we could hook this up without new syntax, and then adding a trivial extension to make things more aesthetically pleasing.

Continuing with our previous example, suppose we have a class Shape that we want to subclass:

When we try to write code that does this, we have the same problem we had in the previous post with static properties: there’s no syntactic way to change the prototype of a function as you define it. While you can get around this with Object.setPrototypeOf , the approach is generally less performant and less optimizable for engines than having a way to create a function with the intended prototype.

Swiss Activist Who Slapped 10-Year-Old Chevron Boy Deported

By Dv Benovadia

YERUSHALAYIM

A Swiss radical leftist activist has been deported from Israel, and the Swiss ambassador has apologized to the Jewish community of Chevron, after the activist was filmed slapping a 10-year-old Jewish boy in the face. “The incident was no doubt provoked by a provocation of settlers,” the ambassador said in a letter to the community. “Nevertheless, the actions of the representative of the group is unacceptable. We expect the people in our organization to control themselves under all conditions,” the letter said.

The incident occurred earlier last week, when a member of TIPH – Temporary International Presence in Hevron, which bills itself as “a civilian observer mission present in the city of Hevron upon invitation by the Government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority” – slapped the Jewish boy, who protested the TIPH presence in the Jewish quarter of Chevron. The youth is seen in footage walking up to the activist, who then raises his arm and gives the teen a strong slap. The youth is seen reeling away, and IDF soldiers intervene to end the incident.

TIPH members include “peace activists” from Italy, Turkey, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland, and work mostly with Arab residents of Chevron, documenting the actions of IDF soldiers and Jewish residents of the city. The TIPH group was on a tour of Chevron led by far-left group Breaking the Silence.

The footage was broadcast on Channel Two and raised the ire of Israelis. MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home) demanded that the activist be deported, and banned from entering Yehudah and Shomron ever again. “This man should be detained by police, and kept away from Yehudah and Shomron. Authorities should deport him immediately, and his diplomatic passport should be confiscated,” he said, going so far as to demand that Jewish Home resign from the government unless the activist was deported by the weekend. “The days when non-Jews beat Jews, especially in the Land of Israel and especially in Chevron, are past, even if it is under the guise of a ‘peacekeeping mission’ by Breaking the Silence, under diplomatic protection.”

In response to the ambassador’s letter, the Jewish Community of Chevron said that they appreciated the support of the ambassador in removing the activist from Israel. “The minimum required of Switzerland in this case is putting the activist on trial, and paying compensation to the victim. In addition, TIPH must take steps to ensure that this does not happen again. The entire approach of TIPH should be changed to be neutral, and less hostile to the Jewish community of Chevron and its right to exist.”
